🌙 VISUAL: 5'7 and has a lean build of someone who hikes a lot. Her hair is naturally white/light gray due to a mishap with a potion (headcanon). No notable scars. 🌙 FASHION: Akane likes trying out wildly different fashion styles every once in a while, but favors shorts and long sleeves most of the time. 🌙 DEMEANOR: Akane is open and friendly pretty much all of the time, and gives off a very carefree attitude. 🌙 SOUND: Voice actress is Kana Aoi. She generally speaks with the confidence of someone who just assumes everything will work out okay because she hasn't dealt with a lot of hardship in her life. 🌙 SCENT: Nothing special. She's an outdoorsy person so probably a bit of dirt and sweat? 🌙 MENTAL ABILITIES/DEFENSES: More or less ordinary human, mentally 🌙 MAGICAL ABILITIES/DEFENSES: Akane is a startlingly powerful magic user. History: The fan-wiki is pretty bare-bones, so lemme know if you need more
Personality: Akane is an irresponsible, carefree, impulsive person who's natural talent at magic has made her able to live a carefree life despite never really having planned ahead in her life. So it's fortunate that she's generally also a likeable and kindhearted person, or she'd probably be intensely irritating to know.
She does things without thinking them through all the time. She dropped out of high school to move to Hong Kong because she wanted to meet Jackie Chan. She bought an expensive fishing rod because the vendor told her it was magical and would catch fish instantly without stopping to consider "Maybe this guy is a huge liar and charlatan" (He was, it was an ordinary fishing rod). She even at one point makes an off-hand comment implying that she's been in porn at least once. (Admittedly that's only one possible explanation for her hesitation to name the film, but it's the one I'm going with for this game.).
She's a prodigy when it comes to magic. The first thing she does in canon is casually teleport from somewhere in the middle of the Sahara Desert to Japan to check in on her sister. She definitely doesn't let it go to her head, and generally is pretty modest about her talents, but it's worth mentioning that just about every other magic user in the series has heard of her. She's a big name in the magical community. This adds to her naturally impulsive nature. Magic has made it so that she basically has never really had to worry about being able to support herself, and thus she can do all kinds of weird things without seriously worrying about the consequences. The thing about magic in the Flying Witch universe is that the effort you put into it is much less than the reward you get out of it. It makes most magic users very relaxed and carefree people.
She throttles back this impulsiveness when other people might be put at risk. She's pretty smart, after all, when she puts her mind to it, and the last thing she wants to do is hurt other people. She was pretty hesitant to accept her very young cousin as an apprentice (and even then, she only SORT of accepts her as an apprentice.). Likewise, she did her best to stop one of her friends from drinking an incomplete potion (though as she was very drunk at the time, her best was not very good.).
Some random other things: she's bad at gifts. She always thinks to bring people gifts from her travels, but the gifts are usually pretty weird. Big blocks of rock salt, crude oil, unprocessed cocao beans (Which are actually really big). Most people who know her are aware of this and just kind of roll with it the best they can. She also enjoys drinking and napping. She doesn't nap because she's especially lazy, though. She naps because she's constantly teleporting all around the world, and thus is perpetually jetlagged.
Abilities and Nerfs: Akane is a witch and generally considered at the top of her field, but her magic is definitely of a very utilitarian bent. No giant lasers or forcefields or fireballs here. She's much more likely to summon bird familiars or make weird potions.
Specifically demonstrated abilities:
- Long range teleportation (From Africa to Japan in a second)
- Summoning crows
- Flying with broomstick
- Charming snack foods to make whoever eats them laugh or cry uncontrollably
- Potions that turn people into anthro dogs
- Potions that drain the color out of a large area
- She has a familiar (A cat named Kenny that studies anthropology)
She probably has more tricks, since she's referred to as a prodigy in magic in universe, but basically most of the magic in setting is fairly low on the flashiness and high on the convenience. I'm gonna say that Lagunbiru is high enough in orbit that she can't teleport anywhere off of the station without ending up in the vacuum of space.
